Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 3, 2026

Keepsake ("we," "us") operates a marketplace that connects people who want photos taken ("customers") with nearby photographers. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the Keepsake mobile app and this website.

1. Information we collect

Account information. Your name, phone number, and email address when you create an account. Your phone number is verified by a text-message code and is how you sign in.

Profile information (photographers). An optional bio, portfolio photos you choose to upload, your service travel radius, and, if you enable the Pro Camera tier, the make and model of your camera and when it was verified.

Location. For customers: the location you choose for a photo session (typed address or your device location, with your permission). For photographers: while you are marked available, the app periodically reports your approximate location so we only alert you to jobs within your travel radius; while traveling to an accepted job, your location is shared with that customer on a live map until the session starts. We do not track photographers who are off duty, and we never show your location to anyone except a matched customer during an active job.

Photos and photo details. Photos taken during a session (or, on Pro Camera sessions, imported from the photographer's camera) are delivered to the customer's private album. Each photo is stored with technical details (time taken, device or camera model, image dimensions). See Section 4.

Messages. In-app chat messages between a matched customer and photographer, including read status.

Transactions. Bookings, package prices, tips, cancellation fees, ratings, and reviews. When card payments launch, payment details will be collected and processed by our payment processor. Keepsake does not store full card numbers.

Device information. Push-notification token, device model, and basic app diagnostics.

2. How we use information

3. What other users see

4. Photos: ownership, photographer lockout, and our archive

Your photos go to you. Photos taken in a session are delivered directly to the booking customer's private album.

The photographer loses access. The moment a session's photos are delivered, the photographer's access is revoked, enforced by our servers at multiple layers, and their in-app copies are removed from their device. On standard sessions, photographers cannot keep your photos.

Pro Camera exception, disclosed at booking. On Pro Camera sessions the photographer uses their own physical camera, which stores its own copies that Keepsake cannot erase. The app requires you to acknowledge this before booking a Pro Camera session.

Keepsake keeps an archive copy. We retain a copy of every delivered photo and its technical details in a restricted company archive, accessible only to authorized Keepsake operators, used solely for dispute resolution, fraud prevention, safety investigations, and legal compliance, for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Your choices and rights

7. Children

Keepsake is not directed to children under 13, and users must be at least 18 to create an account.

8. Security

Photos live in private storage with per-job access rules; every database record is protected by row-level security; all state changes go through validated server functions; names are shortened on our servers before they are ever shared. No system is perfectly secure, but access control here is enforced by the database itself, not just the app.

9. Changes

We will post changes here and update the date above; material changes will be announced in the app.
